Fitness Appraiser Recertification* (April 24, 2012)
· changes to the 2012 Ontario Police Fitness Award (OPFA) includes new screening and assessment protocol and procedures.
· the changes to the OPFA reflect the importance of core conditioning and back care for police officers.
Prerequisites:
· current certification as a police fitness appraiser
· current CPR and first aid certification
Assessment Standards:
· successful completion of a practical and theoretical test is required for certification
Police Fitness and Health Conference* (April 25 & 26, 2012)
In 2012 the Recertification Course will be followed by a two-day Police Fitness and Health Conference.
Presentations will include the latest trends in fitness, current information related to policing and training plus hands-on active sessions. The sessions will be beneficial to all police educators and trainers and provide an excellent networking opportunity.

· Latest equipment trends & Practical Exercises (TWIST Conditioning)
· Shoulder functional movement and conditioning (Sgt. Kevin Darby, Toronto Police)
· Injury management for active people (Talbot Trail Physio clinic)
Fees**:
$125 - Fitness Appraiser Recertification
$250 - Police Fitness and Health Conference
$325 - Recertification and Conference Special
